State-of-the-art refers to “the highest level of development.” So what makes the sports facilities at Wintrust Sports Complex, from our basketball courts and volleyball courts to our training room and meeting spaces, state-of-the-art? Our modern, multipurpose hardwood gym, onsite restaurant and concessions, and additional amenities do! Wintrust Sports Complex is proud to be a premier sports center in the Midwest. Since Wintrust Sports Complex opened its doors in 2021, we’ve blended modern amenities with the traditions of sports.
Wintrust Sports Facilities
Wintrust is a modern facility, not even five years old yet, with modern design choices, technology, and amenities for athletes, families, and everyone else. The biggest aspect of our entire 116,000-square-foot facility is our hardwood gym, which is perfect for a variety of indoor sports. We can configure our hardwood court space to fit eight basketball courts, 16 NCAA-standard volleyball courts, and one championship court. There’s flexible space for additional indoor sports such as wrestling, dance, and cheer. Depending on the configuration, there’s room for up to 4,000 spectators. The hardwood court features modular dividers, nets, and hoops, plenty of lighting, and shiny gym floors.
Wintrust Sports Complex’s sports facilities are home to the best hardwood courts in the Midwest, with the additional facilities and amenities that make any team’s experience that much better. Our entire sports facility boasts high ceilings, an open and welcoming environment, and plenty of natural light. Explore the entire facility with our virtual tour!

The catering menu includes a breakfast buffet, appetizers and small bite selection, lunch and dinner buffets, and service. Enjoying a meal doesn’t mean anyone has to miss out on the action – the Station Grille overlooks the gym floor.
Concessions: The concessions stand offers grab-and-go options for snacks and drinks and plenty of seating to take a break from the action. Plus, floor-to-ceiling windows provide views of the hardwood courts.
Flexibility of Our Sports Facilities
One key component in newer sports facilities is multipurpose courts and flexible gym layouts. Previously, many courts and facilities were built specifically for a single sport. High school gyms built in the 1960s and 1970s were designed specifically as basketball courts with standard sizing and appropriate markings. As other sports, notably volleyball throughout the last couple of decades and now pickleball, grow in popularity, sports facilities need to adapt. Standard volleyball courts are smaller than basketball courts, and all sports require different markings on the floor, minimal ceiling clearance, and equipment such as hoops and nets.
Wintrust Sports Complex is one example of a newer indoor sports facility with state-of-the-art multipurpose courts built with adaptation in mind. When the popularity and regulations of different indoor sports grow, we’re ready to adapt as needed. Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the United States, and our indoor courts are ready to host the future of pickleball.
