History of Bedford Park

In the early 1900s, the Corn Products Refining Company decided to create a wet milling plant on prairie land south of Chicago that later became the Village of Bedford Park as we know it today. The town was officially incorporated in 1940, but the area was booming long before its establishment.

The Corn Products Refining Company  began to grow as they constructed the wet milling plant, and as more and more employees were hired, the company decided to build houses for them to buy. The village that resulted became Bedford Park, named after Mr. E.T. Bedford, who was the company’s president at the time.   

There are plenty of restaurants, shops, and other sources of pure entertainment in Bedford Park. The village is part of an Illinois Enterprise Zone, which means that Bedford Park is part of a statewide project that aims to grow the economy and the community in that specific area. There are so many great things to see and do in the area, and it’s certainly worth visiting in full. There are plenty of natural, historical, and entertainment attractions in the area as well.

Fun Family Activities at Wintrust Sports Complex

Our facility is 116,000 square feet, which includes 8 hardwood high school basketball courts (or 16 NCAA volleyball courts), one championship court, laser tag and laser frenzy, as well as an esports gaming room, our redemption arcade, and our very own Station Grille. Essentially, we have everything you need to relax and have fun with the whole family.

There is so much to do under one roof that it might be overwhelming, but we suggest starting out with a round of laser tag to get yourself in a more fun loving mood. From there, you can choose to play some games in the arcade or you can grab a bite to eat at Station Grille on the second floor of our complex. Wintrust Sports Complex is really whatever you make of it. 

In the arcade, you’ll find all types of games, whether it’s a brand new title or a tried and true classic. You can get a refillable arcade card that will make it easy to keep coming back for more! Our laser tag arena experience is available to groups up to 20 and has two levels of obstacles. 

Things to do for Fun in Bedford Park

In addition to simply visiting Bedford Park and Wintrust for a simple day trip or weekend, you can also plan your own private events with us. If your child has a birthday party coming up, this is the perfect venue for it, especially if he or she absolutely loves sports or gaming or both. 

We offer three party packages for up to 10 participating guests. These packages all include the following perks:

Similarly, the gaming package includes 2 games of laser tag per guest and a 20 dollar arcade game card per guest. And finally, the esports package comes with a 2 hour esports lounge renta and 10 dollar arcade game card for each guest.
