About Bedford Park

If you’re new to the area, here’s a rundown of Bedford Park, Illinois. The village is located southwest of Chicago, and you can access it from the city via car or the orange line. Officially established in 1940, Bedford Park was originally a product of Corn Products Company breaking ground for a wet milling plant.

Of course, this soon brought employees who were looking for homes, and the company followed suit by building homes and selling them to employees who wanted to be residents. The president of Corn Products Company at the time, E.T. Bedford played an integral role in the migration to the land, and so the town came to be known as the Village of Bedford Park.

Obviously, with its history and its proximity to Chicago, industry growth and demand has played a huge part in forming this town. But that’s no longer the only thing that brings people around Bedford Park and keeps them there. Today, the residents of Bedford Park preserve the area and are proud of its history, but they’re also welcoming change to the area.

There’s a thriving community within the business district on Cicero Avenue, full of restaurants and retail shops, in addition to the industrial community. Bedford Park is attractive to outsiders not only for employment opportunities but also for entertainment, food, natural beauty, and leisure as well.

New Restaurants in Bedford Park

So, you’re looking to try something new in Bedford Park. Good thing we’ve got you covered with some of the best new restaurants in town, including one fantastic option right on-site at the Wintrust Sports Complex. Peruse these options to decide what might sound like an ideal outing for yourself or with the family.

Krave

Krave is a family-friendly restaurant located on Harlem Avenue less than ten minutes from the heart of Bedford Park. This location opened in 2020 and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With over 500 reviews, Krave has 4.2 stars on Google Reviews. Their signature plate is a Philly cheesesteak that’s come “right out of Philly.”

When you look at the menu, you’ll be overwhelmed by the options. In the mornings, you’ll be trying to choose between a stack of strawberry cheesecake pancakes and a plate of biscuits and gravy. For dinner, the options are no less agonizing to choose from. With pasta, wraps, paninis, Phillies, and “Kravin” dinners to choose from, you’ll certainly find something for the whole family.

Stunod’s Pizzeria

If you want some good pizza in the area, head over to Stunod’s Pizzeria, a business owned and operated by two brothers. The brothers opened their doors to the public officially in 2019 but had been serving Italian ice to the Chicago area from a small cart.

Now, Stunod’s is a real place, located by the Chicago Midway Airport, where you can get pizza crafted by the brothers, who have gone as far as Italy to learn their craft. And don’t worry, you can still get some Italian ice at the end of your meal.

Station Grille at Wintrust Sports Complex

Stay and spend the day at Wintrust Sports Complex with the newest restaurant in town right on-site: Station Grille. With lunch and dinner options and alcoholic beverages for the adults, there are many options to choose from. The full-service kitchen and bar offer a wide selection of food and beverages, including Bavarian pretzels, fresh salads, and Chicago classics like hot dogs and Italian beef and cheese sandwiches.

Station Grille is open Thursday through Sunday from 11:00am to 9:00pm. Guests can preview the menu online on the Wintrust Sports Complex website.

Family-Friendly Restaurants

These are just three of many new family-friendly restaurants in the Bedford Park area. In general, the village is a bit more family-friendly than the city because, of course, there are going to be many families with young children in the suburbs. Try out one of these great spots or wait until you get here and see the dining opportunities around you.

Whether you’re looking for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just a snack, there’s an abundance of places to choose from all within a ten-minute drive from Bedford Village.
